Description

1/4" Plexiglas Base with locking flap. Our standard plexiglas base is 12" cut to the width or height of your window. We recommend plexiglas for base sizes up to 48" in order to protect the integrity and stability of the door. For doors longer than 48", PVC is the best option.

Our standard 6"x 6" locking flap is included in the price and it accommodates most cats up to 15 lbs. Other flap choices include Cat Mate Large 4-Way locking flap for our larger furry friends as well a Microchip Cat Flap. You can select to upgrade using drop a down option. Let us know if you have a flap choice not listed and we'll accommodate the request to the very best of our ability.

How to Install

Functional, but insecure

The cat flap insert serves its purpose well. It fits in the window and my cat is able to use the flap without issue (I have the horizontal insert for windows that open up & down). I really appreciate the functionality without blocking any light. However, it does not sit securely in the window. The top and bottom edges are lined in a thin, brush-type weatherstipping which allows the insert to readily move about within the frame rather than gripping the frame. I think if they used a thicker, rubbery weatherstipping with more grip, it would hold itself in place better. Although I have locks on my window, if someone were to pull the insert out (which would be rather easy), they could enter my apartment through the opening the insert requires due to it's height. Because it serves it's main purpose well - a method of egress for my cat - I will try to improve the security of the insert myself rather than return. But given the price ($180), I'm a bit disappointed.

They are an awesome company that really puts out an amazing product that my cats love using!!

Installation was easy, though the insert doesn’t sit as tightly as I’d expected, I do think it’ll keep bugs out. The door isn’t weather proof, of course, but it’s worth it to us for now. We’re thrilled our cat had access to our patio when we’re not home to let her out. Love the product — and the customer service!

Kitty loves her new cat flap

It took about 10 days to train my cat to use the cat flap, but she really likes the freedom. She's a 10 lb cat, but I bought the larger flap with 4-way locks, and I'm glad I did. My biggest problem is with a wind that blows open the flap and lets in the outside cold/hot air. I may need to lock the flap when that happens.

Please, do yourself a favor if you have indoor/outdoor cats. We ordered a custom sized plexi-glass insert, the first one came broken. We contacted them, and they shipped another one out immediately. It was the easiest, hassle free process.
